It's important in the road of life to have a person or persons that you can reach out to, learn from, be guided by, accepted by.
The roads will be challenging for our new graduates and the next step is new for each and everyone. Some make it look easier than others but that doesn't mean they are not nervous, anxious or worried. For me, it has been my coping mechanism to seem as if I have it all under control but don't be fooled, I was nervous, scared and worried too. This too shall pass, the hurdles and "newness" will be conquered, one step at a time and sometimes 2 steps back and then forward again.
Cheers to our 2023 LBHS Graduates!!!

I can't believe how long it's been since our last blog, my apologies for not keeping up on it. This has been a challenging 18 + months. Rebuild the Beach missed being on the Boardwalk & Arts in the Plaza for all of 2020. We pivoted like everyone else and did our best to sell products via social media, definitely not the same.
We still gave a 2020 & 2021 Long Beach High School Scholarship and in 2022, it will be our 10th year giving worthy graduates Scholarship checks.
Rebuild the Beach has participated in 2 Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Boardwalk Fairs this summer and it was awesome seeing our familiar customers and vendors and meeting new ones.
We are very thankful that our customers still want Rebuild the Beach apparel and accessories. Without all of you, we would not be able to give back to our community and charities that we care about.
Thank you very much for all your love and support!
xoxo, Rebuild the Beach

]]>My workout girls and I have been using TRX and kettle bells for a long time now and we just started using a Steel Mace and Indian Clubs. We groan and complain during most of the workout but in reality, we all enjoy it, appreciate the results and have fun together.
So, find a workout partner, walk, run, bike or lift together. Take care of yourself inside and out.
Message us for the BAM! apparel...
]]>Geoffrey is off to Australia tomorrow for 2 weeks. In addition to having an incredible experience, I hope he finds some cool graphic shirt ideas for Rebuild the Beach to add to their upcoming 2017 Collection.
If you have an idea and want to see it come to "print", reach out to us and share your ideas.
In the meantime, stay safe, happy and healthy. Take care of yourself. Be peaceful.
xoxo

]]>My boyfriend, loves to surf cast at night, stopping at each jetty to cast a couple dozens of times, hoping to "lure" a striped bass or blue fish. One night, he's casting away and i'm trailing behind, enjoying the beauty of the Long Beach ocean and sky, walking thru the water but there's garbage everywhere. Joe, gives me a plastic bag that he keeps with him, to hold the "keeper bass" he wants to haul in and I begin picking up garbage. The first night, I picked up 2 bags of garbage; plastic cups, bottles, fast food containers, bags, balloons, diapers, feminine hygiene applicators (YUCK) etc. I've been garbage picking while he fishes, I feel as if i'm doing something. A little boy came up to me with an empty can and one of those awful plastic rings that holds a 6 pack, he wanted to help, as did his parents. Another night a couple stopped to tell me they just picked up a bag of garbage. My friend, Lorna, is picking up on the East End of Long Beach. Hopefully, cleaning up our beaches will trickle up and more people will help out and clean up.
Keep an extra plastic bag with you, whether at the beach or the park, I'm sure you will find some cans, bottles etc to pickup. It's easy being clean.
Thank you in advance for helping !!!

Long Beach High School Academic Awards Night was a huge success.
Rebuild the Beach, asked our candidates to write an essay about what they feel needs attention in our community. The selected essays, initially were not my first choice but after rereading them along with 20 + other essays, we selected 2 for our annual scholarship. Both essays were personal, honest and caring.
One student wrote about the need to help our veterans. She was opening up about her grandfather and expressing how necessary it is that our community, society & world needs to assist what's in front of us. We all know it's easier to look away but it's time that we cease looking away and starting looking and helping.
The other selected essay was about the highs and lows of social media. As we all know, there can be a tremendous amount of abuse in the Facebook, Instagram & Snapchat arena. I was impressed at how candid this student was and how ahead of her years she is with wanting to express the importance of using the arenas for positive things, building people up, not bringing them down.
What I've learned from both students and their essays is we all need to be kinder and more helpful. Reach out, get involved, help others that are less fortunate. Think about what you are doing and the ramifications.
Sending peace and light for a beautiful June!!!
